Michigan International Speedway (MIS) has bumped our joint speed events with the Irish Hills Corvette Club (IHCC) from September 26th-27th to October 3rd-4th. I was told it was due to conflicting events. I ask IHCC to double check with MIS as recently as July 6th and the October dates are the only ones available.
I must apologize to the club as Brian Smith, IHCC president, reminded me he did contact me with this information prior to our last club meeting however, it completely slipped my mind. I should have brought this up at the June meeting.
We will be needing workers for our Sunday events. From what I observed the following is what the Irish Hills & Battle Creek clubs used for their June 20th-21st low speed events. (1) person at gate handling the NCCC/MIS waivers, (2) persons at registration, (2) persons for tech, (1) starter, (8) corner workers, (4) persons for lunch.
In addition to our speed events we still have our Rally’s scheduled for October 10th. I have plans in mind to make the day easy on the club but will need help.
Regarding the June 20th-21st speed events, Saturday had 36 entrants with the men’s FTD going to Bruce Wentzel (CCM) with a 31.4 and the ladies FTD going to Mary Wentzel (CCM) with a 32.6. Sunday had 32 entrants with the men’s FTD going to Jacob Windman (East Region) with a 30.9 and the ladies going to Beth Waters (IHCC) with a 32.7.
CCM held a non-sanctioned time trial at Waterford Hills Road Course on July 3rd that was open to all makes and models. The predicted rain stayed away and own Danny Kellermeyer was overall FTD with a 67.946. Other club members are as follows; Bruce Wentzel 69.703, Mary Wentzel 75.738, Robert Hall 76.376, Tom Janos 78.001, Donna Janos 85.915, Ken Jameson 93.389, and Connie Esposito 99.227. I believe all had a good time and we’ll be looking forward to next year.

July 18th Capital City Corvette Club will be hosting seven low speed events at Spartan Speedway in Mason, MI
July 19th Jackson Corvette Club will be hosting seven low speed events at Spartan Speedway in Mason, MI
August 1st Flint Corvette Club will be hosting a corn roast at the Janos house in Clio, MI.
August 1st Irish Hills Corvette Club will be hosting a car show followed by three rallies in Clinton, MI.
August 2nd Shiawassee Corvette Club will be hosting seven low speed events at Owosso Speedway in Ovid, MI
August 8th America’s Corvette Club will be hosting a non-sanctioned car show at Sellers Bowman Auto Center in Clarkston, MI. This will include a Judged and Show & Shine competition.
August 8th Calhoun County Corvettes will be hosting five people’s choice car shows at Marshall, MI.
August 9th Irish Hills Corvette Clun will be hosting seven low speed events at South Bend, IN.
